Council this Tuesday rehabilitaed some inner roads in Mkhosana’s Mukali area as part of stop gap measures to prevent flash floods as a result of the persistent rains.
The incessant rains being received across the country have shown the need to attend to the drainage system in some parts of the City.
To address the situation, Council is attending to some of the areas with a long term goal of making sure the whole road network is well drained and residents are safe from any form of disaster.
In the picture a grader is clearing some roads and making miter drains to allow water flow away from the road and yards into open spaces.
Open spaces are critical breathers especially during stress times like floods as surface run off can be redirected there to prevent flooding.
Council committed to attending to all areas with drainage challenges, brick by brick, stone upon stone, until all roads are safe, traffickable and beautiful as the City moves towards becoming Green.
