An Econet Zimbabwe team paid a courtesy call on His Worship,
Councillor Prince Thuso Moyo on Thursday ahead of the Econet Victoria
Falls Marathon which is scheduled for July 5.
Victoria Falls is the traditional host for the annual marathon at
Baobab Primary School.

The Mayor was joined by Finance Director Mr Nerville Ndlovu and
Economic Development Manager Mr Ngqabutho Moyo while the Econet team
was led by General Manager Marketing Ms Tariro Muchena who was
accompanied by Events Manager Ms Juliet Makaza, Territory Lead (Hwange
to Vic Falls) Mr Tatenda Kwenda and Marketing Officer Ms Sindie.
The purpose of the visit was to brief the City on the preparations for the marathon and evaluate last year’s edition.
This year’s event is expected to be bigger and better as over 5 000
runners have since registered for the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay and Fun Run.
Council has committed to working with organisers to improve ground
logistics, traffic and route management, public communication.
It is the City’s desire that the event, just as other activities that
take place in the City, takes cognizance of the importance of waste
management and cleanliness to ensure that the tourism destination remains clean before and after such gatherings.
