[Leonard Vfcc: The City of Victoria Falls has started installing pre-paid water meters to residential and business properties in the City as it rolls out the pilot project to ensure quality and reliable water services. The City is working with Bhungane Investments.
The contractor came up with a software that is customised for the meter and local authority. Upon installation, residential and commercial properties are credited with 5 cubic litres of water and thereafter would have to juice up by buying a token. The pre-paid water meter project is aimed at making sure service is top notch in line with customer satisfaction and quality service delivery. After the pilot project and monitoring the system, the City will roll out the full exercise.

Arguably one of the pioneers of black women empowerment in Victoria Falls, Mrs Tatenda Gunda, proprietor of Tatenda Safaris was the first to have a prepaid meter installed at her lodge. She is grateful for the project which she says will enhance efficiency and do away with fears of estimated billing. She got 10 cubic liters of free water for one installed meter.
